Radical Japan confirms inaugural Radical Cup Japan for 2027

Radical Japan Co., Ltd. has officially confirmed the launch of the highly anticipated Radical Cup Japan, set to debut in 2027.Bringing the globally renowned one-make racing series to Japanese soil, the championship will feature the exciting Radical SR3 XXR and SR3 XX* in competitive wheel-to-wheel action.
Currently spanning 14 countries globally, the Radical Cup format delivers uncompromising high-downforce racing, culminating in the prestigious World Finals.
Organized and managed directly by Radical Japan, with technical and operational support by Craft-Bamboo Racing, the inaugural Japanese season will begin in May before continuing with events in June, July, and September 2027, with each of the four rounds to feature a two-race format for a total of eight races across the season.**
The tentative calendar sees the innovative sports prototypes set to do battle at some of the nation's premier circuits: Sportsland SUGO, Mobility Resort Motegi, Tsukuba Circuit, and Okayama International Circuit.
As a prelude to the new 2027 championship, Radical Japan has repurposed two late-2026 track days into immersive readiness events for incoming drivers and prospective buyers.
The first, the Radical Japan ‘Exhibition Race,’ will be held on November 3 at Okayama International Circuit, featuring practice sessions, qualifying, and two exhibition races, as per the expected format for the 2027 series.
The second will be hosted at Mobility Resort Motegi, with the December 12 Radical Japan ‘Training Day’ to include driving sessions, Time Attack sessions, and the opportunity to receive professional driver feedback and benefit from educational opportunities such as lectures on Vehicle Data Analysis.
Grid spots for these prologue events are open to the public. Drivers can enter their own SR3 XXR or SR3 XX models, or reach out regarding the availability of new cars, in-stock vehicles, and used cars, or to discuss rental opportunities.
Limited Run SR3 XXR Launch Package and Track Experiences
To mark the manufacturer's official arrival in Japan and drive toward a robust grid for the 2027 season, Radical Japan has released a highly exclusive 10-unit “SR3 XXR Launch Package.”
Starting at ¥22,833,800 (including tax), the package offers a cost-effective, race-ready configuration that meets all Radical Cup Japan eligibility requirements out of the box – including a 1500cc engine upgrade and a mandatory cockpit safety structure.
Additionally, Radical Japan has introduced a test drive program. For ¥110,000 (including tax), prospective competitors can book a tailored 30-minute track session in an SR3 XXR demo car at various circuits across Japan. The test drive fee will be fully refunded as cashback upon the purchase of a vehicle.

*Participating cars must be equipped with a 1,500cc engine upgrade and a cockpit safety structure.
